A Triad of Deminished Existentialistics,Two who &#8216;Make it&#8217; in the Outside World"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class='__iawmlf-post-loop-links' style='display:none;' data-iawmlf-post-links='[{&quot;id&quot;:25,&quot;href&quot;:&quot;http:\\\/\\\/equotes.wetpaint.com\\\/page\\\/Sherlock+Holmes+Quotes&quot;,&quot;archived_href&quot;:&quot;&quot;,&quot;redirect_href&quot;:&quot;&quot;,&quot;checks&quot;:[],&quot;broken&quot;:false,&quot;last_checked&quot;:null,&quot;process&quot;:&quot;done&quot;}]'><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Part 3<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The faraway place where Elmo was used to looking out the window, and yearning to join,\u00a0seemed much too active for him in reality,well more or less but particularly without taking in nourishment.\u00a0 And as with most cats the intense magnitude of new smells and his ability to\u00a0freely walk about\u00a0 in the out-side world, especially as there was so much more to it than imagined,\u00a0was over whelming.\u00a0 He thought it prudent to enter with great haste directly into the front flowers bed where he hunkered down and hid.\u00a0 There were some odd sounds that he\u00a0experienced, the cars rushing by\u00a0were less than ideal, but there were some of the\u00a0birds coming and going, that recognized and knew him to be the cat who <strong><em>only <\/em><\/strong>watched from the inside.\u00a0 His sudden outdoor appearance set the cardinals and\u00a0 mocking birds into a tizzy, emergency bird calls were coming from the trees and from the many flying little wrens,\u00a0also strange and fascinating insects were flying above him.\u00a0Some he remembered to have that weird buzzing sounds like out of the old lady&#8217;s &#8216;noise machine&#8217; she turned on\u00a0every night for resting and sleeping like it was yesteryear and it was common practice to keep the windows open on a coolish, Texas night.\u00a0 But,\u00a0 What a day!\u00a0\u00a0He discovered a lizard and gave it the evil eye.\u00a0 And he found\u00a0a couple of bugs that seemed good to eat.\u00a0 Well, who\u00a0knows about whats good to eat out here, but he figured he&#8217;d give it a try.<\/p>\n<p>Betty Jane and Data took off down the pathway closer to the houses to the north of the sidewalk.\u00a0 It would be a strange sight, indeed, \u00a0if they strolled casually down the side walk like some\u00a0 of the walkers.\u00a0Our house is on the top of a straight cut off hill, and the road runs almost horizontal, so people come from where ever to &#8220;work out&#8221; and walk in some most incredible styles and in astonishing out-fits and lots of bikers, riding bicycles not motorcycles,\u00a0some with the nerve to wear yellow jerseys, but I&#8217;m betting they were not the infamous Lance Armstrong.\u00a0 Who knows, this is Austin, and supposedly &#8220;Keep Austin Weird&#8221; was the slogan seen\u00a0here and there and\u00a0on bumper stickers.\u00a0 I doubt, we&#8217;d have much of a problem with that, but that is merely my opinion.\u00a0 \u00a0Although\u00a0all of the walkers used the street, which did not vary quite so much, as the non- conforming\u00a0 side walks.\u00a0 Data noticed an unknown ship\u00a0 in a rectangular form approaching from the west.\u00a0 His experiences in the past with the &#8220;<span style=\"color: #800080;\">Borg<\/span>&#8221;\u00a0suddenly came back into his memory, as he \u00a0froze with the suspicious eye of Sherlock Holmes, (although his were yellow) stating, simply &#8220;the game&#8217;s afoot&#8221;.[1]<\/p>\n<p>It was a great mistake for me to define our post personage, Mr. Miller,\u00a0as a perfect governmental worker; as he was a complex and intelligent person who probably sang along with rap in his truck, and it was obvious that he secretly and carefully watched every thing happening,\u00a0on his route with great interest, keeping an eye on those people he found interesting, or who had packages to be delivered to their door, which he did in rain or shine,\u00a0rather than simply stuff them into those strange mausoleum-shaped mail boxes, where letters and magazines and catalogues were left for the\u00a0residents to stop by on their way in from work, or wherever, and\u00a0bring into the\u00a0house to\u00a0ponder.\u00a0\u00a0 Data sensed an emotion that overcame his &#8216;Intel&#8217;\u00a0but his\u00a0programing kicked in\u00a0as he searched every image before them.\u00a0\u00a0He was at a lost at what action to be taken, as he and Betty Jane were now hiding in the new landscaped house to the very north of our house, and Mr. Miller had parked his Mail van right in front of that particular side walk.\u00a0 He motioned for Betty Jane to be quiet and took out his phaser, leaving the violin unprotected &#8211; to his better <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em><strong>judgement,<\/strong><\/em><\/span>which was a tad rusty, given all that lolly-gagging around the house with Betty Jane for so long.\u00a0 Seems like He thought Mr. Miller was a threat.\u00a0hmmm, I used to think so too&#8230;\u00a0Well, he was about 5&#8217;10&#8217; and looked fit in his walking shorts.\u00a0 This particular &#8220;Data&#8221; was about 9&#8243; tall with his hat on, much to Elmo&#8217;s curses.\u00a0 Betty Jane was a fairly small doll, however a good bit larger than Data, she wasn&#8217;t sure what to do about\u00a0that approaching Mr. Miller either, so she took on her most serious Republican thoughtful\u00a0expression, tried to act like she was a normal sight to be\u00a0seen on a week day, as\u00a0our Postman\u00a0advanced, coming forward,\u00a0coming closer to the two hiding dolls,\u00a0\u00a0 This part with the mail personage\u00a0was not in their well-thought out plans (?),\u00a0 As Data set his phaser<em><strong> off of <\/strong><\/em><strong><\/strong><strong>&#8220;<em>stun<\/em>&#8220;. <\/strong>Thinking a good strategy would be to cause\u00a0one heck of a\u00a0distraction,\u00a0 so he raised it and aimed at the Mail truck, which he figured was the most threatening thing in the &#8220;Outside World&#8221; after all was said and done.\u00a0A high-pitched, peircing\u00a0unfamiliar mechanical blast was noticed by the remaining residents,\u00a0and then: the <strong><span style=\"color: #800080; text-decoration: underline;\">KaaaaaaaaaBlllllam<\/span><\/strong>, of what it&#8217;s effect on the Mail truck was most unusual even for the truly\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #339966;\"><em>Wierd <\/em><\/span><em>Austin<\/em><\/span>.\u00a0 What occurred was not just an explosion, strangely enough,\u00a0what once was a\u00a0Mail Truck\u00a0and a flurry of catalogues and letters, sort of exploded and then disappeared and, the wind\u00a0blew hard from the west, south-west, sending unrecognizable particles of what was left of the truck\u00a0down the street \u00a0into\u00a0 the ashes, dust, or sand\u00a0on the street where the Mail truck once stood idling.\u00a0 For a decent moment, the noise level was so high that even the old lady inside their own house, was frightened by that strange sound,\u00a0 and arouse from her serious reading,\u00a0put on her orthopedic shoes and grabbed her cane to go look out of the study window\u00a0hoping to\u00a0see what in the outside World had happened.\u00a0 Stranger than what she heard was the factor that she\u00a0saw nothing changing, out doors.\u00a0 Except it was an exceptionally pretty day.\u00a0 She walked slowlyand\u00a0 unsteadily out\u00a0\u00a0the door and then stopped.\u00a0 Mr. Miller was not hurt in any way, but he was at odds with what to do, since his Mail Truck disappeared.\u00a0 &#8220;What a pity,&#8221;
